Key Insights: 18th European Congress: Perspectives in Lung Cancer

The European Congress: Perspectives in Lung Cancer is an annual, professionally driven educational opportunity for clinicians and scientists with interest in thoracic oncology. This year’s congress was held 3-4 March 2017 in Madrid and focused on recent scientific discoveries and clinical advances, including use of immunotherapy. Highlights of discussion included: use of checkpoint inhibitors for NSCLC; best practices for use of targeted therapies and radiation therapy in lung cancer; new insights on oncogenic drivers; and the emerging role of liquid biopsies. This activity features conference chairs Giorgio V. Scagliotti, MD, PhD and Luis Paz-Ares, MD, PhD discussing the key take-home points from the meeting.
